Hollywood Hall (or Holywood Hall) was built by Charles Atwood in 1864. It was subsequently occupied by the Misses Rogerson and by Mr. Vickers from whom it was purchased by the County Council in 1912. It was opened for 25 patients in 1914. It remained a County Council establishment until 1948.
