Inland Revenue Valuation records,

Duties on Land Values

given under s.3(6) of the Public Records Act, 1958

These volumes, known as "Domesday Books" or Duties on Land Values, were drawn up by the Board of Inland Revenue Valuation Offices following the Finance (1909/10) Act, 1910, and are a record of valuations of land made in accordance with Part I of that Act.

The volumes contain entries for each hereditament and give the valuation assessment number, poor rate number, owner, occupier, description, situation, poor rate valuation, map reference, area and valuation as determined by the Inland Revenue.

The volumes relate to a partial set of annotated Ordnance Survey plans, IR 2/1-245, for which there is a printed guide in the search room
