Papers relating to The Weardale Iron and Coal Company Limited (W.I.C.C. Ltd.) subsequently The Weardale Steel, Coal and Coke Company Limited (W.S.C.C.C. Ltd.)
The arrangement of these papers follows that of the earliest filing system of the Weardale Company for which evidence remains - chronological within topographical headings. Messrs. Bates and Baring were partners in the original Weardale Iron Company and in the banking house of Baring Brothers and Company.
