31 January 1857 (1) William Craggs of Mount Pleasant near Crook, husbandman (2) George Spence, butcher; John Emmerson, blacksmith, and Thomas Thompson, farmer, all of Crook; Thomas Hall of Mown Meadows near Crook, farmer, and Christopher Hall of Pease's West Colliery, coke manufacturer, trustees of the Crook and Neighbourhood Independent Benefit Building Society Mortgage by (1) to (2) of a plot of land, containing 917/9 square yards, with a house erected on it (part of an allotment made on the enclosure of Billy Row Common and part of a close conveyed by a deed dated 20 October 1851) bounded on the east and north by the ancient enclosed lands of Farrer Wren, deceased; on the west by other parts of the allotment and on the south by the road leading from Billy Row to Durham Consideration: £60
